- Active phased array antennas are widely deployed on various spacecraft platforms. As the demand for higher communication and data transmission capacity of spacecraft continues to grow, active phased array antennas have become increasingly large in scale, leading to a sharp rise in overall heat generation. Traditional thermal control schemes, which transfer heat to the satellite main structure via heat pipes, can no longer satisfy the heat dissipation requirements of large- scale array structures. To address the aforementioned technical bottlenecks, this paper proposes a layout design of deployable thermal radiators applicable to large phased array antennas for high-orbit communication satellites. Corresponding ground tests and on-orbit flight verifications are completed in this study. This work provides a feasible technical approach for realizing high-efficiency heat dissipation of large-scale space-borne phased array antennas operating in high-orbit environments.
