The KTH Handling Test Vehicle

Instrumentation and modification of a standard estate car to a fully equipped test vehicle for measuring handling related state variables and parameters has been done. The vehicle is equipped with an On board Configuration Change arrangement - OCC. The OCC arrangement gives the advantage that a wide range of car configurations can be tested using one test vehicle.

The KTH Handling Test Vehicle has successfully been used in winter test on ice. Vehicle handling parameters from a double lane-change maneuver and a constant radius test with various velocities are presented. Stable, semi-stable and unstable phases are observed during the constant radius test.
