- The design, development and performance aspects of Komatsu's newly developed fuel injection pump “KP21” is described.The KP21 pump, which features high injection pressure capability, variable pre-stroke system and electronic governor with electrohydraulic proportional control system, is showing good reliability and performance as was expected.The application target is heavy duty diesel engines between 70 ps/cyl to 130 ps/cyl, and the development program has been pursued along with that of a newly developed SA12V140 engine which drives a HD785 dump truck.
