- An effective and affordable human factors program should include both human factors training and an event investigation tool for the reduction and management of human errors in the maintenance environment How can a human factors training program and an event investigation process be justified? What are the costs involved and what benefits can be realized? These are some of the issues and questions which are delaying the process of implementing effective human factors programs in maintenance organizations. An event investigation tool, such as the Aurora Mishap Management System, can help managers and technicians to learn from the errors that are made and to provide quantifiable information that forms the basis for the justification for continuation and expansion of human factors training. It also provides a feedback loop to refine the human factors training program, tailor it to specific issues that may occur in the organization, and provide organization unique case studies which are then incorporated within the human factors training program.
