In the field of Japanese automobile industry, introduction of nearly developed and modified existing materials, etc. are positively intended to use for various parts so as to meat present requirements for weight saving, higher quality, higher performance and originality.
At present, eighty to ninety percent of the Weight Constitution of materials used for automobiles comprise steel and aluminum. Ten percent is organic material. Although the usage of organic material is showing in increasing tendency, we do not think it will reach a point where the ration will significantly change, at least in near future.
Among these many questions concerning the material used for the related automobile industries, the point is to what extent new material such as ceramics and FRM can substitute for steel and aluminium.
The major factor in automobile materials adaptability is in the cost versus performance.
