There are more commercial motor vehicles abroad than there are in the U.S.A., there are more commercial vehicles being manufactured abroad than there are in the U.S.A., and the commercial vehicle exports of foreign countries far exceed those of the U.S.A.
This paper reports on the maintenance activities, maintenance equipment, and parts purchasing patterns of 150 motor vehicle fleets in 32 foreign countries. Details of the operations of these fleets, and their vehicle purchasing patterns, are reported in Paper No. 975A of January 13, 1965. Both papers contain related information regarding world motor vehicle registrations, manufacture and exports in the Appendix.
