Abstract
Content

The aim of this work was to identify shortcomings that limit the successful firing of armament from fielded rotorcraft weapon systems and to investigate ways of improving upon the situation. Potential improvements involve system modeling refinements, enhanced system algorithms, and both a communication of information between the fire, flight and engine control systems and the subsequent processing of the shared information. Enhancements were selected that provide the pilot with assistance in effectively bringing armament to bear on target at the earliest opportunity and with improved accuracy.
