- An opinion is offered on what an independent contractor must do to survive in the future. The present era of dynamic, ever changing technology and business practices requires the independent contractor to be capable of providing a complete and finished product for a client from concept to utilization, including design, financing, land acquisition, insurance, construction, operation and maintenance. Thus, every single phase of construction development will be integrated into an entity.
