- Content
- GASOLINES of as low as 70 octane number can be used in commercial engines with only slight losses in power and economy, provided proper spark-timing adjustments are made; no major engine changes, such as changes in compression ratios, are necessary. In order to obtain a complete picture of the relationship between fuel octane number, engine adjustments, and engine performance, the authors carried out a comprehensive investigation.
