- The vast majority of gear teeth manufactured around the world have an involute profile developed by the Austrian scientist Leonhard Euler (1707-1783). The fundamental feature of the involute profile principle is that it provides constant angular velocity. This is an absolute necessity because in absence of constant rotational motion, vibrations and/or high stress can be generated that can lead to damage and even destruction of the gears.Power Engineering and Manufacturing, Ltd. developed advanced design gear teeth that have a higher power density, durability, and efficiency that are registered under the MEGAGEARS® and UNIMEGAGEARS® trade names.
