Improved Thermoplastic Encapsulation of a Wheel Speed Sensor Using Retractable-Pin Tooling

This paper explains the development of improved injection molding technology using retractable-pin tooling for encapsulation of a wheel speed sensor in nylon engineering plastic. The new technology speeds production, reduces labor requirements, increases yields and reduces the risk of moisture penetration of sensors during service.
