Improved Method for Determining Roughness Peak Count on Cold-Rolled Steel Sheet

The methods of measuring roughness peak count on cold-rolled sheet are discussed. The amplitude dependence of the present recommended peak-count practice is determined. A new method of peak counting that is independent of roughness amplitude and readily calibrated is proposed.
