- A new generation of foam-in-place sealant material, which overcomes many of the processing and performance limitations of existing products, has been developed by Norton Company. This material, known as Dynafoam™, is a one-part moisture curable, thermoplastic rubber. One of the salient features of this material, unlike most foamable hot melts and “two-part” systems, is that it sets up almost instantaneously after it leaves the applicator nozzle. Thus, the foamed bead profile can maintain its shape even when applied on a vertical axis. In addition, This material also possesses excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. This combination of ease of application and Improved properties makes it a state-of-art gasketing material, particularly for automated manufacturing environment.
