- The extensive use of hydraulic cylinders in operations involving high loads and increasing pressures has brought to light several problems that should be considered and corrected. Some of these include contamination, improper cylinder packing, cylinder squeal, and others. One particularly serious and reoccurring problem involves oil aeration. The methods and devices currently in use to help alleviate the problems which have been encountered in various types of applications are discussed in detail.
