- The automatic riveting assembly is not only an instrument to more efficiency, rationalization and increasing the quality, it is also a human factor in the assembly shop. In this time, the healthy of the staff has a high rank and the management of the plants are constrained to keep them free of prejudice.
- Rivet noise is reduced by using big automatic riveter
- The injuries of the riveting workers “white fingers” coming by the vibration of the rivetgun is reduced by using recoilless rivetguns and ARAS
- Unergonomic working positions lying in a duct during riveting assembly will be replaced by a robot system.
About the development stages and the increasing of riveting machine dimensions are reported at the Fastec '85 and '93. Now we will present this equipment in another situation. The developing of the recoilless rivetgun in '82 had started the developing of the ARAS. We use the system for automatic assembly of fuselages. The new project we work on is a special close clearance riveting system. A mixture of 7 axis NC controlled riveter and semiautomatic collar-gun will replace the worker lying in an air intake during riveting assembly. In this riveting operation we use two piece fastener with an light clearance fit.
