Abstract

Heat transfer modeling offers a scientific methodology for thermal analysis of composite structure bonding assemblies. The heat transfer model can be used to predict temperature distribution during the curing process. This, in turn, permits selection of the optimum power density, distribution of the heaters, location of the sensors, and determination of the zoning control sequence for tooling design.
