Present paper deals with the ultrasonic guided wave propagation in laminated composite beam with delamination. For this study composite beam is modeled using time domain spectral finite element method. Characteristics of reflected wave from delamination give the crucial information of the damage. Delamination distance is estimated from the time of flight measured and depth information is obtained from the wave field near the delamination. Wave interaction with delamination for various layer wise delamination configurations is presented. Rotor blade consists of box like thin walled structure having curvature and corners. Damage detection in rotor blade structure is interest of study of this paper. Simplified model of curved beam with delamination is studied. Delamination in interior of the structure with curvature is interrogated using guided wave. Effect of curvature in corner on reflection and transmission has been studied. Interaction with curvature with anti symmetric Lamb wave creates reflection which contains both A0; and S0 mode. Mode conversion due to reflection from bent region is studied.
