Currently, safety and environmental issues are a major concern in the automotive industry. ABS has become the vital brake system, supporting one of the fundamental functions of automotive (running, turning, and stopping). Automobile manufacturers are moving towards standardized installation of this system as a safety/prevention measure.
The system itself is using more advanced technology and increasing performance, such as a separate braking feature on individual wheels. Other new features include the BA (brake assisting) System and the Stability Control System.
Accordingly, a high level of technology and performance is required for MCUs themselves.
