FIBRIT Wood Fiber Material - Product and Performance

FIBRIT^™, a trademark of Deutsche Fibrit, is a formable wood fiber mixture which can be pressed into difficult and complex board contours. The product characteristics, processing methods and finished parts possibilities are discussed. A comparative analysis is made with alternative types of substrate materials used in an automotive instrument panel construction. Design innovations are suggested which enable a composite multilayered one piece construction for interior parts as large as 3100mm X 1800mm van panels or as easy as a door panel with no waste.
