Abstract
Content
The feedstock recycling of waste plastics from automobile shredder residue (ASR) was performed at 430°C in a batch process. The bumpers and polypropylene gave the higher liquid yields about 70wt%. The other plastics such as PA6 and PC/PET gave 45 wt% and 26 wt% respectively and PA6 produced the caprolactum as major compound. The analysis of residues and liquid products shows the higher calorific values and suggests that these can be used as liquid and solid fuels. The boiling point distribution of liquid products is comparable with conventional fuels such as diesel, kerosene, and petrol.
