Content
Theories can be used to explain the nature of different failures. However, they cannot account for all the unknown factors that may effect the reliable performance of an end product. Some factors the design engineer should consider are the effect of manufacturing processes, materials, and working environment, and their influence on the performance and reliability of the machine.
