- Waste Treated Plastic oil is one among the waste product from the collected and indisposed plastic garbage. These are abundantly available without proper procedural recycling. Also, the biofuels like bioethanol and biobutanol can be utilized by treating the biomass. This study is using the waste treated plastic oil as property enhancer and performance improver into the blends of diesel-bio ethanol and diesel-biobutanol. To start with the base possible blends are being obtained by the solubility cum property testing of the fuel's diesel, bio ethanol and biobutanol in various proportions (0-50% in increments of 5% volume.). Following this the performance of the chosen blends one from the diesel-bio ethanol and another from diesel-biobutanol blend are tested for the performance, combustion and emission characteristics in five brake powers. Results of the solubility and properties test depicted that the diesel along with 20% of bio ethanol and diesel with 25% of biobutanol are found competent with respect to the base properties of diesel fuel. Further, these blends are blended with waste treated plastic oil to improve the properties such as kinematic viscosity, density, heat of vaporization, cetane index and energy content. The addition of waste treated plastic oil improved the properties. The final blend is 25% of waste plastic oil into diesel-bio ethanol blend and 20% of waste plastic oil into diesel-biobutanol blend. These two blends are tested in diesel fueled power pack for performance. The results of the engine indicated that the thermal efficiency, net heat release rate, pressure of the cylinder, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide as higher and smoke emissions and oxides of nitrogen emissions as low comparing the base reference values of the diesel.
