Abstract
Content
Transient tests, both on the testbed and in the vehicle, are an important part of modern engine test procedures. The tools to monitor and control engines over transients are discussed and some of the pertinent details of the Microprocessor Engine Controller and the High Speed Data Acquisition system are described, Application of these techniques are outlined and examples in the testing of both gasoline and diesel engines are discussed.
