Authors Abstract
Content
Solvent cleaning, baking, acid immersion, and hydrogen peroxide immersion cleaning techniques were tried on glass, ceramic, metal, and plastic surfaces. Test results showed that detergent cleaning using 1% detergent solution in distilled water with ultrasonic agitation is the most effective and/or practical technique for removing organic and silicone thin film contamination from such surfaces.
Evaluation of cleaned surfaces by water-break technique is sufficiently critical to detect contamination buildup on polished surfaces after 20 minute exposure to air.
