Abstract

Content: This paper gives details of safety features that have been incorporated in the second United Kingdom Safety Motorcycle (ESM2). Progress on research and adoption of those features fitted to ESM1 exhibited at the Seventh International Technical Conference on Experimental Safety Vehicles in 1979 is outlined.

An assessment is made of the benefits of four of these features in relation to the saving of casualties.
