Abstract
Content
The reliability of avionics equipment is influenced by a number of environmental factors by varying degrees. Section I of this paper discusses those significant influencing environmental factors and quantifies what is still the most important factor - heat. Section II describes the impact of operating time on equipment reliability. The reason why identical equipment in identical aircraft appear to have vastly different reliability levels is explained.
