Abstract
Content
The design component of the undergraduate engineering curriculum should be distributed throughout the entire program. To develop problem-solving skills and to avoid the suppression of innate creativity, design methodology should be integrated into all levels of the program, culminating with a senior-level, interdisciplinary approach to the solution of real problems supplied by industry. Special attention is needed to attract and reward faculty who are qualified to teach engineering design.
