Authors Abstract
Content
ALTHOUGH the technique the measuring engine wear through the use of piston rings which have been radioactivated is already well advanced, there has been little opportunity to secure long service records to substantiate the data obtained in laboratory tests. Considerable data of this kind have now been secured, and are presented in this paper.
Wear measurements were determined by testing rings taken from a fleet of 32 taxicabs in service, and were compared with similar measurements made in laboratory tests.
