- This paper presents an electromagnetic (EM) vibration-to-electrical power generator which can efficiently scavenge energy from low-frequency external vibrations. The reported generator increases the conversion efficiency by up-converting the low-frequency environmental vibrations to a much higher frequency. Power is generated by electromagnetic induction between a magnet and coils placed on top of resonating cantilever beams. The calculated maximum power from a single cantilever is 2.5μW in vacuum for vibration frequencies 1Hz to 1kHz.
