Effective Use of Composites

This paper summarizes the methodology of developing fiber reinforced composite components and structures for off-highway vehicles. It emphasizes the team approach, and aims at improving the interface between product and materials engineering, structural analysis, test and manufacturing. The effect of differences between composites and commonly used metals on the product development approach is discussed. Some generic application types are listed.
