Abstract
Content
- Improved use of energy,
- Pollution control,
- Road safety, and
- More comfort
are the requirements to be met by modern road vehicles.
The hydrostatic power transmission, provided that it is designed and built according to certain fundamental and technological principles, is an essential factor in this respect.
These fundamental /operation under pressures of >500 bar etc.../ and technological /use of materials with a high stretch-modulus and working under compression etc.../ properties ensure:
• Efficiency of >92% over a very large range of applications.
• Effective decrease of exhaust gases.
• Noiseless operation.
• Comfort and safety.
Each one of these different features will be the subject of an analysis.
