The Eaton® CEEMAT™ Automatic Transmission was introduced to the commercial market in 1988. The CEEMAT (Converter Enhanced Electronically Managed Automatic Transmission) is currently used in traditional on/off highway applications such as front discharge mixers, dump trucks, refuse haulers and other specialty vehicles, as well as on-highway vocations such as coaches, motorhomes, and general highway applications needing an automatic transmission.
In 1993, Eaton developed and began producing the CEEMAT ATE model transmission. This model incorporates a communication link with the engine to provide compatibility with electronically controlled engines.
