Duty Cycles for Turbine-Powered Trains

This paper discusses the cyclic loads imposed on gas turbine engines when used for traction and APU operation in various turbine powered trains. The paper also discusses train and operating procedures that should be followed to reduce engine cycling to a minimum to extend engine operating life.
