- The modification of a turbocharged diesel engine to a dual-fuel engine using methane as the supplementary fuel has been carried out.The effect of the gaseous fuel in a turbocharged diesel engine has been investigated by means of a heat release study and a computer program already developed at Leicester Polytechnic. It is used in order to examine the rate of heat released under any operational condition.
