The Development and Utilization of Hardware-in-the-loop Simulation for the Development of an Automatic Transmission Control System

A hardware-in-the-loop simulation system for automatic transmissions has been developed with the ability to accelerate calculation time. This development enables real-time automatic transmission shifting simulation while maintaining the required calculation accuracy. The application of this system for the development of a new automatic transmission eliminates the need for full testing with an actual vehicle. This, in turn, results in a reduction in the time required for development.
