- Polyamide 6(PA6)/Polyolefin(PO)/Rubber alloy was prepared by melt compounding using a twin screw extruder. In order to find out the effect of adding Polyolefin and rubber, the mechanical properties and chemical resistance for CaCl2 and ZnCl2 of the alloy were investigated and compared to PA6. The results showed that the alloy has longer elongation than PA6 and the chemical resistance of the alloy was enhanced significantly. With these enhanced material properties, the alloy was applied to 3-D blow extrude molding to manufacture a fuel filler neck which can have high resistance against chemical aqueous solution. Several inspections like melt strength, barrier property, die swell/draw ratio were conducted to verify its performance for automobile parts. The results showed that PA6/PO/Rubber alloy has good formability for 3-D blow molding, and it was concluded that performances as the automobile part were sufficient for HMC's requirements.
