Development of Mechanical Components for Advanced Aircrew Seating Systems

Mechanical components play a key role in assuring a safe, reliable interface between man and machine. As man was not given wings to fly, his flying maching still needs his help to operate. The mechanical links between the two can take many shapes and perform a multitude of tasks.

Pacific Scientific Company has manufactured mechanical flight system products for over fifty (50) years. Presented in this paper are various new personnel restraint, seating system and flight control components, as well as an update on the 1BAHRS, Inflatable Body and Head Restraint System Program.
