Development of an Electromechanical Interlock Module

An electromechanical interlock module has been developed for use on vehicles requiring a starter interlock system. This paper details the various types of relay modules considered for production use and their problem areas, and then proceeds to the development of the electromechanical interlock module released for production and how changes were made in the module to adapt it to an automotive type of environment.
