Development and Application of a Special Purpose S/W for Vehicle Dynamics

This paper presents the results of development of a special purpose program VEDYNAS for vehicle dynamic analysis and its application to design modification of a vehicle under development.

The special purpose program for vehicle dynamic analysis is devised to reduce the computation time near to the minimum by using the relative coordinate system to reduce the number of generalized coordinates of a system to the minimum.

Validity and efficiciency of the program for analysis of a vehicle model is demonstrated through comparisons with analysis results using a commercial S/W DADS and driving test results of a real vehicle.

The program is applied efficiently to comparative driving performance analysis of a vehicle under development with a current production vehicle.
