- An analytical method is presented for calculating vibrations and radiation efficiencies from a structural model. The three areas addressed are 1) determining the dynamic characteristics of structures using finite element techniques; 2) generating input functions from empirical data; 3) calculating radiation efficiencies of the structure from a finite element model. Finally, a systematic method is presented for combining these parameters to calculate sound power. Experimental results demonstrate the accuracy and applicability of this technique in the development of low noise hardware.
