Content
The basic philosophy for a logical approach to the design and implementation of an adaptive vehicular braking system is defined. Tentative system specifications, goals and objectives are outlined. The many technical factors, both external to the vehicle and within the vehicle, necessary to establish a general mathematical model of an adaptive braking control system are emphasized. Techniques utilized to obtain experimental data to support systems analysis and computer studies are discussed. Various control configurations are presented.
Vehicle performance is summarized for two configurations of an electronically controlled vacuum actuated adaptive braking system.
