Simulation, physical testing, and a combination of both is an indispensable tool for developing reliable product designs in the automotive industry. Engineers rely on this integrated approach to thoroughly explore design possibilities and fine-tune products for varying configurations. Drawing insights from existing designs, engineers can effectively tackle important design challenges, such as reducing rolling resistance. This study introduces a pragmatic solution, leveraging simulation and real-world test data, and demonstrates the effectiveness of employing Linear Regression (LR) techniques for improving rolling resistance in vehicles. Integrating LR algorithms into the design process enables swift and cost-effective optimization of parameters, offering a quicker pathway for product development.
