Design for Maintainability

Maintenance coats for the support of operational aircraft programs make up a large portion of the overall costs. This paper describes some basic processes that can be applied during design phases of the engine development program that can reduce such costs. The methods presented herein have been successfully used in the past and have been proven to be effective in reducing costs.
