Design of a tricycle kit for motorcycles

This paper presents the development of a project to transform a commercial motorcycle into a tricycle for use in the commercial load transport.

The chassis is a metallic structure that has a triangular shape configuration, where the front pivot is attached to the original rear pivot of the commercial motorcycle. In this chassis the rear suspension is composed of a pair of springs and shock absorbers. The drive power is transmitted by chain to a rear axle with two wheels. A differential provides better comfort, stability and security to drive the tricycle.
