Current Diagnostic Control of the Injection System of a Marine Engine

In this paper the use of injection pressure as a medium of diagnostic information is thoroughly analysed. In addition, major diagnostic parameters of the injection system are determined.

Simulated tests of common injection malfunction occurring in a marine engine were carried out.

Based on the test results obtained we believe that there is a real potention to carry out a computer-aided diagnosis of an injection system on an operating engine.
