Authors Abstract
Content
There are many different types of lap belt and shoulder harness systems being installed on present production aircraft. It is the intent of this paper to show that there are different needs for the different types of restraint systems.
There are sound and logical reasons why the many different types of aircraft have not adapted the same type of system for positioning and restraining the individual in his seated position. A review of the latest systems and reasons why they are used is a simple way of explaining why we have these many different types of systems.
