Authors Abstract
Content
This paper describes methods for the layout and development of the cooling system of the engine and other components especially for high performance series vehicles.
It covers air cooled engines as well as liquid cooled systems, and also cooling of the air-conditioning system, gearbox, drivetrain, and intake air on turbocharged engines as well as the brake system.
Development work from basic layout to component testing and final verification is described.
The methods used are mainly based on the measurement of pressure differences and thus allow the dimensioning of the cooling system at a very early design stage.
