Abstract
Content
A look into the chemical constituents, variables, and contaminants of a sulfamate nickel electrolyte. Their function and how each modifies the internal stress, hardness, elongation, and strength of the deposit. Through the use of statistical process control, data on the chemical constituents, variables, and contaminants is gathered. A series of graphs are generated with this data, allowing closer control of the nickel deposit. These graphs allow corrections or modifications before the deposit is affected adversely.
Through the use of specialized masking techniques, shielding, and anode placement, the deposit distribution can be modified. These types of controls will produce a more even deposit distribution, reducing machining times and increasing machine tool life.
