Abstract

Content: Control strategies for a continuously variable transaxle (CTX) project, which have been conceived and developed for Ford Fiesta/Escort vehicle application, are described.

Various strategies for start-up clutch engagement and ratio change are shown.

Actual test results of vehicle performance and fuel economy are given to verify the predicted benefits of these control strategies.
