Construction Vehicle ID Transmitter for Carriage Data Collection and Management System

A truck data collection and management system has been developed. This system collects load data, controls truck destinations, and totals loads of individual trucks.

Although this is an adaptation of the earlier bus location system, it performs new system functions and incorporates improved hardware to suit the system mission and the severe field environment.

This paper describes the vehicle, field, and central equipment. It also describes system functions, especially the method of collecting truck number, subcontractor code, classification of rocks in load, and load weight.
